10am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm – 3pm (in Zone B)
Nigel Philips trained at Merrist Wood College and has been a practising garden designer since 1982. In that time, he has carried out a wide variety of design commissions, including several gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show.
He has recently concentrated on designing smaller gardens and developed his One-to-One garden design service where collaboration with the garden owner results in their garden being designed by the end of the day.
Come and have a chat and let him help you design your garden today.
Fiona Dennis has been a horticulturalist for 40 years, working both nationally and internationally in horticulture and plant conservation, and has now opened Fi’s Yard in the heart of Lewes. Fi provides beautiful plants and great quality hand tools. All plants are sourced from Sussex nurseries and grown peat-free in recycled (& recyclable) pots. The tools are of the best quality and should last a lifetime.
Crossland’s Alstromeria Nursery
‘British Flowers Rock!’
Ben Cross is a 4th generation horticulturalist based in West Sussex and a tireless campaigner for British Flowers. Ben studied and worked in marine science and oceanography before returning to tend more than thirty different varieties of alstroemerias under 3 acres of glass all year round. 30 years ago there were lots of similar nurseries growing cut flowers all over the UK but the trend for importing cut flowers grown in Kenya, Colombia and Ecuador has sadly led to their demise.
‘I feel very passionate about keeping the nursery going. It is a lifestyle like farming, not a job’ says Ben with heartfelt passion
Ben will be doing his signature ‘British Flowers Rock!’ talk on Sunday at 1:30pm – listen out for the location of Ben’s talk to be announced over the PA system.
