Firle Place has been the home of the Gage family for over 500 years. Set at the foot of the Sussex Downs within its own parkland, this unique house (originally Tudor) is built of Caen stone and was remodelled in the 18th Century.

The house contains a magnificent collection of Old Master paintings, fine English and European furniture and an impressive collection of Sèvres porcelain.

HOUSE TOURS

Firle Place will be open to visitors of the Garden Show on all three days from 12:00 noon until 4:30pm (last entry 3:30pm).

The special admission price is £7.00 per person and tickets to the house can be purchased on the day.  Entry is exclusively for visitors to the Garden Show and is on a freeflow basis. Children under 15 may enter the house free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Due to the historic nature of Firle Place, we regret that there is only access to the ground floor for wheelchair users.  Disabled access is therefore free of charge.

Event Mobility is delighted to be providing electric scooters and manual wheelchairs for Garden Show visitors to hire.

PLEASE NOTE: Mobility scooters and wheelchairs must be booked in advance

We are delighted to be supporting local charity Hands of Hope at the show

Set up in 2016, Hands of Hope are developing a neglected heritage walled kitchen garden & 22 adjoining acres off Moorhill in Hawkhurst, West Kent. They are working to preserve, restore and develop the site into a sustainable, all-inclusive community hub to:

  • Provide educational and social activities that use growing and cooking, combined with traditional practises to improve physical and mental health.
  • Deliver projects aimed at tackling food poverty as well as rural and social isolation.
  • Providing valuable training opportunities in organic horticulture as well as heritage rural skills.
  • Use heritage and the natural environment to support life-improving programmes accessible to all, specifically focussing on marginalised groups across Rother, Hastings and West Kent.
